A Canadian Canoe is an open canoe originating from Canada as compared with the large open wood and canvas canoe from the United States.
The canoes generally are double ended in shape and are propelled with a double-blade paddle.
They are a lot more stable and are good for the application of travelling down rivers and good for carrying supplies on a longer journey.
The Kayak is often used in conjunction with the term Canoe but a Kayak has a different seating position for the paddler and is lower to the water and the deck is often enclosed covering the paddler.
